SCLF Autumn 2010 Event: Evolution or revolution: where next for the UK’s merger regime

The recent spark of challenges to Competition Commission merger decisions raises the question whether or not changes to the UK merger regime are needed and if yes, how far these changes should go.  This is the question that the Scottish Competition Law Forum will examine at its Autumn Event this year, which is kindly hosted by Maclay Murray and Spens with a panel of experts comprised of David Saunders, Chief Executive of the Competition Commission, Rhodri Thompson QC of Matrix Chambers and Dr. Gunnar Niels, director at Oxera.

Scottish Competition Law Forum Summer Event – The Competition Act 10 Years On

At our summer event, kindly hosted by the University of Glasgow on 10 June 2010, the Scottish Competition Law Forum will mark the 10th anniversary of the Competition Act and consider possible directions for the UK competition regime. Expert panels chaired by Sir David Edward KCMG QC (former Judge of the European Court of Justice) and Professor Richard Whish (leading competition academic at Kings College London) will set the scene and respond to queries and comments.
