The Scottish Competition Law Forum is delighted to invite you to its third anniversary meeting in Edinburgh on Wednesday 3 December 2008.
The evening will be an occasion for the members of the Forum to reflect on the third successful year of the Forum and to look ahead to the 2009 events. It is also an opportunity to introduce new faces to the Forum and we would encourage you to extend this invitation to any contacts who may be interested.
The evening is being held at the Sheraton Hotel, Lothian Road, Edinburgh, and at Santini’s Restaurant at Conference Square in Edinburgh. We will start proceedings with a drinks reception at which we will reflect on the past year’s successes and outline our plans for 2009.
We are delighted to welcome Sir Gerald Barling as our keynote speaker. Sir Gerald is a High Court judge and current President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal. He was appointed a Recorder in 1993, and was knighted on his appointment as President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal in November 2007.
Terry Calvani will deliver the after dinner speech. Terry served as a Commissioner of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission during the Reagan administration. He was also a member of the Competition Authority of Ireland. Terry has lectured and written widely on many aspects of competition law and is currently with Freshfields in the USA.
